2022 PGA Championship Stripped From Trump Course

Jim Richerson announces his board will relocate the PGA Championship scheduled for May of 2022 at Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, N.J. The PGA has opted to sever ties to the outgoing President in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot. Previously the PGA cancelled the 2015 Grand Slam of Golf that was to be held at Trump National Los Angeles Golf Club. That move was made after the president made disparaging remarks towards the Mexican community in his re-election bid.

Columnist Eamon Lynch notes that it has not been a good look for golf icons such as Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus to lend support towards Trump. Just one day after the Capitol unrest Gary Player and Annika Sorenstam accepted the Presidential Medal of

Freedom at the White House. New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is set to receive the same honor this Thursday, if the president is not already removed from office. Meanwhile the latest Rasmussen Poll from Friday saw Trump's approval rating rise to 48 percent.
