Adrian Martinez Enters Transfer Portal - Nebraskans Rejoice

Tough luck University of Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez announced Thursday that he will enter the NCAA transfer portal, ending his four-year run with the Cornhuskers. It just seemed like his eligibility began towards the end of the George W. Bush administration. The three-time captain accounted for 308 yards per game during the 2021 season, with 14 touchdown passes against 10 interceptions on his ledger. With 10,792 yards Martinez is the school's all-time total yardage leader. The Huskers were 14-25 in games in which Martinez started, only eight of those in Big Ten play. As news broke, fireworks erupted throughout Lincoln. Fans staged an insurrection of Memorial Stadium, stormed the field and tore down the goalposts. That is only a slight exaggeration of the actual local reaction. Martinez missed Nebraska's final game due to an injured right shoulder. He still has two years of eligibility remaining.
