Scheduled Oct. 31 game in Lincoln off after Wisconsin suspended all team activities for seven days. In all 12 players and head coach Paul Chryst have contracted Covid-19 in recent days. The list includes current starting quarterback Graham Mertz, backup QB Chase Wolf has also initially tested positive and is awaiting confirmation. Chryst has become the 10th coach in FBS football to contract the Coronavirus.
The game will not be rescheduled, as the Big Ten's revised schedule does not have open dates. The Badgers outbreak exceeds Big Ten protocols with more than five percent of the team, and a regional (Dane County) positivity rate of 7.5 percent.
The developments come on the heels of Wisconsin's deadliest Covid-19 day yet, (a phrase said several times in the past month) with 5,262 new cases and 64 deaths reported Tuesday, the nightmare totals both shattered previous single day highs.
But the president brought Big Ten football back...
