Emergency personnel sent to Dallas Cowboys training facility at 7:30 AM CT Tuesday for a non-COVID emergency situation involving a staff member who had collapsed, later identified as strength and conditioning coach Markus Paul. Many media outlets, including KACMEDIA and a social media post by former New York Giants lineman David Diehl initially reported Paul had died. A Facebook message by the Paul family says Paul is currently being treated at the hospital. The team's morning practice and coach Mike McCarthy's scheduled press conference was cancelled.
The Cowboys also released a statement that Paul is currently undergoing tests and that additional information will be made at the appropriate time.
UPDATE: Per Syracuse media, nursed quoted as describing Paul's condition as 'brain-dead' the latest report has Paul in serious condition.
