Baltimore Ravens practice was abruptly cut short Thursday after Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters and running back Gus Edwards went down on consecutive plays in what is believed to be significant knee injuries (torn ACLs). Edwards would join fellow backs J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hill in being done for the season. The team signed Le'Veon Bell this week and later inked Devonta Freeman after Edwards went down.
The Ravens practice was being held without pads at the time of both injuries.
Former practice squad player Ty'Son Williams is the only other running back on the roster and figures to be the starter for the Ravens Week 1 Monday Night game at Las Vegas - Williams is an ideal play at least for daily fantasy formats.
The perennially snakebit Los Angeles Chargers have not been spared either, running back Austin Ekeler missed practice for a second straight day with a hamstring issue and is questionable for the team's game in Washington on Sunday.
