Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver and former University of Alabama star Henry Ruggs III will be charged with DUI in connection to a fatal car accident in Las Vegas early Tuesday. The fiery crash occurred at 3:39 a.m. at the intersection of South Rainbow Boulevard and South Spring Valley Parkway. The crash involved Ruggs Chevrolet Corvette rear-ending a Toyota Rav4, killing an occupant inside. According to local law enforcement, the 22-year old Ruggs showed signs of impairment at the scene and was transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Highly coveted by owner Mark Davis as the number 12 overall pick in the 2020 draft, Ruggs has been a mild disappointment thus far in his NFL career. The Raiders are coming off a bye and play again this Sunday. If convicted, Ruggs faces two to 20 years in prison.
