Shocking and tragic news out of the media industry as Yahoo Sports Senior NFL writer Terez Paylor has died unexpectedly at age 37. Paylor was fresh off submitting numerous articles leading up to Super Bowl LV. A Detroit native, Paylor started with the Kansas City Star, covering high school sports, University of Missouri athletics and Sporting Kansas City soccer before becoming the Kansas City Chiefs beat writer for five years. In 2018 Paylor moved on to his role with Yahoo.
Fellow sportswriters Jason Whitlock and Jeff Passan, the Kansas City Chiefs public relations and fiancee Ebony Reed was amongst those who paid tribute on social media. Paylor's passing comes just two days after that of ESPN baseball reporter Pedro Gomez who died at age 58.
