Playing Favorites - KACMEDIA Week 12 NFL Spread Picks

Week 12 should be insanely competitive overall, as no team is favored by double-digits - which seems incredible this time of year. After a string of losing weeks I am barely above water at one game over .500, I need a snorkel at this point. All 32 teams scheduled to play so plenty to choose from going forward. Baltimore @ Pittsburgh - Postponed from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. ET, if it is played there will be NFL on three networks in the early block. I will stay with the Steelers -5. Houston @ Detroit - The final fate in the Lions season is traditionally nailed down on Thanksgiving. I do not see team playing their tails off to save Matt Patricia's job. Washington @ Dallas - A short, but eventful and tragic week in Dallas. Both teams actually won games outside their division last week. Coaching edge goes to Washington but will pick the Cowboys. Las Vegas @ Atlanta - After watching the Falcons sleepwalk in Atlanta and the Raiders giving Kansas City all they can handle, it is obvious to go with Vegas, even in an early start road game. LA Chargers @ Buffalo - The 3-7 Chargers have a point differential of -7 while 7-3 Buffalo stands at +13. That is a 2-point difference per game, factoring in 3-4 points for home field and the -5.5 spread for the Bills sounds fair. NY Giants @ Cincinnati - The Giants come off an interesting bye week while the Bengals now staring at 2-13-1 without Joe Burrow. One of the easier calls this week. Tennessee @ Indianapolis - Mike Vrabel's team getting feisty, as the team figuratively pissed and crapped on the Ravens logo before last week's game. The Colts won in Tennessee easily two weeks ago, Vrabel will need a hell of a game plan for his team to have a chance this time around. Carolina @ Minnesota - I will get a text at 12:25 p.m. Central Time asking how in the hell Minnesota was made a four-point favorite. Teddy Bridgewater expected to return to start for Panthers against his old team. Arizona @ New England - For the second time in four weeks, quarterbacks wearing No. 1 square off. Not as historic as Tua v. Kyler a few weeks back but will go with the Cards. Miami @ NY Jets - Dolphins won the previous meeting handily, look for Tua to bounce back after rough week in Denver. Cleveland @ Jacksonville - Jaguars down to third-string Mike Glennon under center. Will believe in the Browns, for one week. New Orleans @ Denver - Taysom Hill blasted for two and a half minutes last Friday by Stephen A. Smith for making his starting debut at 30 years old. One of ESPN's silliest takes since Desmond Howard laid into Hill for being a 26-year old college quarterback. New Orleans schedule favorable, but next three weeks all on the road. As they say in Provo, betting not allowed in the church. Cannot argue with that covenant. San Francisco @ LA Rams - A relatively healthy 49ers team dismantled the Rams several weeks back, look for Sean McVay's squad to get revenge in the rematch. Kansas City @ Tampa Bay - Worried media will really starting throwing dirt on Tom Brady's grave should KC win going away. Chicago @ Green Bay - The cast of characters change, but Green Bay always loses key overtime games. The GBP has not covered last two weeks and I cannot pick every favorite. Seattle @ Philadelphia - Considering at least one division rival along with likely the Giants win in Week 12, the Eagles will be in dire need of an upset. Look for them to play Seattle close.

LOCKS: Houston @ Detroit, NY Giants @ Cincinnati, Indianapolis v. Tennessee, Carolina @ Minnesota, Kansas City @ Tampa Bay

Overall Record: Last Week 6-7, Season 76-75-3 Locks Last Week 4-1, Season 32-22-1
