Officer Rusten Sheskey Not Charged In Blake Shooting

Updated: Jan 5, 2021

Kenosha, Wisconsin prosecutors have decided not to charge Rusten Sheskey, the officer who shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back on August 23, which sparked another round of social justice unrest across America. Three days later the Milwaukee Bucks refused to take the floor for a NBA playoff game. The Milwaukee Brewers baseball club also declined to play their scheduled game and dozens of NFL, MLB, NBA, WNBA and NHL postponed scheduled games and practices. The shooting left Blake paralyzed, officers Brittany Meronek and Vincent Arenas will also not face charges. In another development, Kyle Rittenhouse pleaded not guilty to seven counts for his role as a vigilante militant. The 17-year old killed two bystanders and wounded a third during a night of protests in Kenosha. Rittenhouse is currently free on $2 million bail. LeBron James has already commented at the latest news, quoting Martin Luther King Jr. saying 'an unjust law is no law at all'.
